I'm looking for a software that is a small application and can:

1. Tell me the BPM of a loop

2. Let me change the BPM of a loop and save it as that BPM

For either MAC or PC itodesn't matter.

any audio editor like wavelab or soundforge can do that i htink... you just tell it how many bars/beats your loop has and it'll tell you the bpm. thats usually in the time stretch menu, which you also use to change the bpm. there's also Recycle... this one will also telly you the bpm if you tell it how many beats/bars your loop has, and will cut it up into slices so you can play it back at different tempos, but doesnt offer timestretchin as such.

hope this wasnt too confusing... dunno how much you understand about this terminology...

spark, peak and dsp quattro are mac and can do that. or recycle on mac and pc.

Go to Sonys site and download the free demo version of Acid. There isn't any software out there that makes it so easy to check and change the BPM of an audio file.

Drop the file in and set the BPM to whatever you want. Export and exit... thats it. If you right click on the channel it tells you the original BPM.

The Full version 4 even does this with song length files.
