Errmm... how do you all trade gear? Do you just make the buyer (sometimes you, obviously) pre-pay? I's trying to purchase a Mackie 1604 from this guy, and he tells me he'll deal for 425$ including shipping. Okay. He wants me to pre-pay. He also says he doesnt want a personal check because it takes to long to clear. I got him to send me his drivers licence and he seems like an honest guy... Would most of you just send it, or what?

2. signed agreement including your names, the item for sale/trade, it's condition, serial number, understanding that if you're not satisfied that there is a return, notarize it, and send it before money is exchanged

You could also try tradesafe...www.tradesafe.com...its an escrow service...you send them the cash, he sends you the kit, you say ok, they send him the cash. Theres a small fee (based on sellin price) but its well worth it. Ive used them a couple times and never had anything even resembling a hassle. check it out.
Or...do like above...It seems that if the guys willing to send you his license then hes pretty much up and up..altho he could be sending you a license he found on the ground!

If he sent you a driving licence then he must be pretty ok.. Driving licences have a pretty good black market value as false id etc..
