Hi,

I am a stranded Logic customer needing a
Logic Audio Platinum 4 to 5 upgrade. I see
a German version listed, but are there any
English versions available for shipping to
the USA? Any other places besides Ebay to
look for one?

Dimitri

Yes, the distributor here in the US is now Apple Computer and they cancelled all
upgrades other than those direct to Pro 6. I'm hoping there is at least one remaining
upgrade there in the great home of Emagic. I can't quite afford US$699 nor do I think
version 6 will be good for my Reaktor Audio Instruments plug-ins from what I read.

Now this might seem a bit harsh, and maybe doesn't help much, for which I am sorry even in advance, but if I were you, I might consider not investing any more money into a company that has such a dumb-ass and agressive upgrade strategy.

They clearly want to force their customers into something you don't want, while there are software companies out there with products that might just turn out to be equivalently good for you, for the fraction of the cost (lifetime upgrades, proper support, etc.)

It's the customer who shall always be right, not THEM.

I just checked and an english upgrade (4-5) IS in our partner store - it's 129 euros

I could find out if they can supply you in USA, but they might be forced not to due to global rules setup by emagic pertaining to distributor areas

K-

If it's not too much trouble, that would be great. I emailed Thomann and they're out of the upgrade,
and I barely found a full version 5 here for $699.

RagnarOk-

I totally hear you, but I'm affraid I've invested so much time into creating a massive midi processing
environment, that it would be too hard to start all over. I've read that Digital Performer may be
equally capable, but...

Well, I found a full used version for sale on ebay and went with that. That'll do.
