Well I have just tested Rebirth 2.0. I thought it would be the same thing as 1.5 but I'm impressed of it. Like Propellerheads said they have add better dist (much better I think), compressor, 909 drummachine on 2.0. But they didn't say anything about changing the sound of the 303's, but I think it sounds much better or am I stupid, please tell me!! Anyway 2.0 is very good. Wonder what they will do next?

Still no undo!!

ReWire sounds cool. This is meant to be implemented in VST
4.0 and will sync with ReBirth 2.0 and allow direct control over ReBirth from within VST.

Well, it could be cool if you get VST working properly.

Yeah....... I´ve got it, ReBirth 2.0 is great, absolutely the coolest thing ....

BUT: ReWire for PC in combination with VST will work first if VST 3.6 ! is available. I think it will be there on Sept-Okt 98.

Ciao

Try loading some mods and see rebirth look AND sound different.

The mods are what brings rebirth to life.

Yep
It's top dog! Endless hours of fun. Just hope all my tunes don't end up with 303 lines!
Has any noticed a huge increase in resource useage?
I could run Cakewalk and Rebirth 1:5 in sync on a P100
with 24mb. Rebirth 2:0 just killed that computer.
Oh well just got a new speedy P233, 64Mb. Mods load like a rocket.
Also just brought a Motego PCI TB card. 18bit DAC's,
great clear sound, Direct X support and PCI audio
handling takes huge resource pressure away from the
CPU, all for £110.

Dal
Now read carefully!
Go to the properller head website, they have a step by
step instruction to sync cakewalk.
You will need to load a virtual midi driver such as Hubi
Loopback (its on the Rebith 2:0 CD).
You might want to contol rebirth from a midi knobs on a keyboard as well as sync at the same time. This
becomes a liitle bit more difficult as there is only one midi
imput into rebirth.
1. Select the port and channel in Cakewalk of your
keyboard with the knobs you want to use for midi control.
2. Go to the settings menu and select Midi Echo
3. Select manaul.
4. Select the number of your virtual midi port and the
channel to send the controllers on.
Now two midi ports will be seen as one in Rebirth.
Hence syncing and midi control.
Dave
PS anyone tried the Rebirth General Midi file conveter?
I couldn't download the programme.

Yeah, I've tried ReMaker1.3 or whatever the midi-2.0rbs converter is. Great little proggie that seems to work as advertised.

It only sees the first 4 tracks of a midi file and turns the first 2 into basslines and the second two into drumlines. Track 3 is the 808 and 4 is the 909. I like it a lot since I hate the 303 style programming interface. Give me Logic or Cubase and I'll simply tie one hand behind my back.
