Here's a copy of a message I've just sent to Roland/Boss support - any comments?

Hi,

I've just submitted the following on your web-page support page, but I'm
afraid this issue has annoyed me so much, that I'm e-mailing it to you
too...

I have a major problem with the VF1's MIDI synchronisation mechanism...

I set my sequencer (Cubase) to output midi clock at 145 BPM (or 150BPM) and
set up the VF1 to sync with it for its delays (I've also tried this with a
couple of other *known* stable midi clock sources).

I then play something through the unit and it pops and crackles as it tries
to maintain its synchronisation.

It's actually OK down at lower BPMs (like 120 or 130).

Exactly the same problem as with my Boss SX700 - also recently reported.

I even upgraded the firmware to version 1.10 to see if that would fix it -
with no luck.

Now, my Novation Supernova used to do exactly this several OS versions ago,
but it was fixed. My Korg MS2000 has never had a problem with this.

Korg and Novation seem to be able to do this correctly, I'm surprised that
Roland/Boss can't.

I hope you can:

a) provide an explanation
b) provide a firmware fix

This is the main reason I bought the VF1. I have an SX700 and am resigned to
the fact that the firmware is stuck with this same problem, but there is no
reason why the VF1 shouldn't be able to cope with this if the firmware is
corrected and published for up-loading.

Thankyou...
