How come the virus is so much more expensive than the Nova? The sounds I have heard from it sound great, but the price sux when you can get the Nova so cheap now (£650) Also how is the Virus to program, do U need to know lots about synths? or is it a good machine to learn on?

The dual-filter architecture takes a little bit more getting used to than something like a Nord Lead, but it is still a good unit to learn synthesis on. Drums are decent if you're only expecting analogish drums.

Why is it more expensive than the Nova? I can't speak for the company, I don't know... But it does offer more voices/parts for one... Those numbers are (I think) 24 voice and 16 part multi.

I also liked my Virus a _lot_ better than the Nova I tried out at Guitar Center. The Nova sounded a little plastic-ish to me.

Nord Racks are cheap these days too, don't forget those!

Ive seen the Nova for £650 new, but the virus b when I last looked was £899! They used to be a simliar price. I heard some 808 emulations on the Virus, WOW, almost identical to the real thing, I suppose it depends what your like at programing.

When it comes to parts/voices you can´t compare Virus B with the Nova. The nova is 6 parts/12 voices, Virus B is 16 part/24 voices. What you should compare is the sound. You have to play and listen to both synths and make up your own mind about what sounds best for your kind of music.

all very well, but its the sound that matters to me. If the Nova sounds better I will gte it, it may not have as many parts, but if I dont like the way the Virus/Nova sounds then I wont be happy with them, never mind the product support.

I agree that the sound is the most important
thing. I just sold my Nova as well and will be
replacing it with an Access Virus. I much
prefer the sound of the Virus. The added
knowedge of excellent product support just
makes the decision easier. I hated my Nova
because it sounded very limited to me and
the interface was not easy to use. It has all
those effects but they sound horrible. In the
end I just wanted synths with more
personality and a wider choise of
waveforms.
Ijust got a Korg MS2000 which I love and
soon I shall pair it with a Virus B. Thats all
the synths I need.
