Ok, I just picked up a second 101 lastnight and I am trying to trigger it via the 909's Rimshot trigger, but I am getting noise from the output. Once, I unplug the 1/4inch cable from the 909 the noise goes away. Fortunatley. I am able to use the 2 606's triggers. But I plan on getting a 3rd 101 and utilizing the 909's Rim trigger would be hella nice.

Anyone else get that strage buzz sound?

Yeah, I do... but it's so faint, I don't even hear it when there's another track playing together. There goes all hope for a solo... but I don't mind that much.
Damn, that's a nice pile of gear you'll be having there.
Seeing you have two, you might be the right person to drop the following question back at ;
My 101 is connected to a Phillip Rees MIDI-CV converter(with all the switches and plugs set correct, I'm very sure.)
Only thing is, I am not able to sequence it from my MPC, it'll only run in sync (triggers on MPC)when sequencing on the 101 itself and pressing play. Could this be a faulty CV input jack on the 101.My suspitions are so, just hoping somebody with some analoge insight could confirm before I go to the trouble of finding a repair facility in the Netherlands.
Sorry to hyjack your thread like this, hope others ignore my post.

Thanks,
Maarten

Maarten,

Cool. I am glad someone else's make noise too. Yes it is slight. Anyhow, contact Tom Carpenter at Analogue Solutions. He is a 101 expert and he carries PR sync boxes as well, I think.

Maarten,

I found the culprit. It was the 606, not the 909. Ofcourse never the TR-909 eh? Fuck no. Actually, since Tom Carpenter modded my 606 I cannot use the master volume anymore. And if I do it will make some nasty hum noise. I now have to use the mixer gains and faders direct from the individual outs of the 606, i.e. the volume pots are disabled and the out put is fixed. Sounds like a downfal, but believe me it's bad ass. And I wouldn't change a thing. Anyhow, by turning down the volume on the 606, that buzzing sound went COMPLETELY away. It's quite as hell now. I can't believe how quite the Mackie 1604VLZ is.

Man, all I think about is the number 16 and effekts and filters.

Fuck! Now I'm the only one with a (faint) noisy 101! Oh well, good for you.

The hum from the sh-101 is due to the
funky 9v ac adapter. i was told that
they are all noisy.. Here is the
cure(yet expensive): Bateries! the hum
will disappear from the 101. My sh-101
problem is that the tuning dips when i
use the kenton pro 2 for cv /gate midi
conversion with an mpc 60/3000. It seems
to be off a quater tone ....it use to be
on the money. thank god for tune knob
and

I am glad to hear that there are others
geeking out by connecting all this old
pre -midi gear. When they are all
syncing (a 909,808 .606 303 202 & a 101
i

Did this get worse over time? The level knobs are used frequently and if the potentiometers wear then the level controls will not function properly.
