my friend got a broken akai ax80 synth from his neighbor..

a beer was spilled on it, and it quit working very well..

some sound comes out of some of the keys, but it's very faint... it also sounds like some keys are stuck in a "note on" position -- there's a faint background hum that changes as you change the patches....

my question is this: is it ok to crack it open and make an attempt to clean it, or is this best done by the professionals?

any advice on fixing it would be greatly appreciated....

you could open it use deoxit and hang it out in the sun to dry.Depends on the professional?
