A while ago we discussed wear around the knobs (the 303's!) well, check this out for a solution. www.acid.ch/303frame.html

Holy Crap!
That's really cool.
Might be a bit on the heavy side no?
Somebody's been busy with the CNC machine.
Too bad I don't have a 303 to put in one of these beasties.
I do however have a 777. But that's not quite the same.

I saw that guy's page a few days ago myself. I tried contacting him, but his e-mails don't work.

I would love to have a silver aluminum case with the original print.

Dude I hear you, but they take like 9 hours to machine, and the hire of the workshop is very expensive (CNC machines are megabucks) one for the connieuser perhaps!

it comes to be like 450 US dollars.
If someone was to do this from start
to finish, here in the US, that would
cost a couple of grand.

Imagine how much time it would take
to re-create the top and bottom
cases in a CAD program.
The CNC machines are hella
expensive and it takes skill to
operate one. I think the price is pretty
fair, CNC machined parts have
always been considered "trick" and
expensive, a lot of trick mountain bike
parts are CNC machined.
This dude Martin deseves a lot of
props for doing this, this is a labor of
love for him and I think he is doing a
great contribution for the 303
community. The price should not be
a factor, its expensive, but worth it.

No kidding 909INC., I am with you! Unlike, some kids I know. "will you take an old pair of crusty underwear, a piece of chewing gum, an old rusty bicycle pedal and $16 dollars in pennys, for for your trick ass machined 303?"

Don't be cheap, have some patience and get EXACTLY what you want...
Pedicelli, $450 is not that expensive for something so trick, dude. .

Which colour would you lot go for? I have Blue LEDs in my TB so I'm thinking Blue or Orange or Silver (alu colour)

The guy emailed me and he said that he has 27 different colours...

if I was going to follow through with it, I would go all silver. Although, I have not seen anthing additional exept the ones that are the page.

I still have to ask him if the anodizing
would wear off, it would suck to
spend so much cash on the case
and put wear around the knobs.

A nice touch, I think he machines
your 303's serial number on the
back.

I think I would probably go with a
silver one.

The thing with chrome is if you knock the TB the alu is softer than chrome so it would peel off, damn!

Hell yeah, some lines of E.

I think I'll have my case made with a
hidden compartment for "stuff", razor
blades and a matching silver straw.
Or a built-in E dispenser, like Pez!
Man, all the rave girlies would be all
over!

he! he! just joking!

hmm... I wonder if he can leave the
case unpolished with no engraving.
Just this nasty aluminum block with
a couple of knobs, lights and
buttons. Leave the sides unfinished,
just round off the edges and corners
so its not sharp.

pwetty butterfly on the case. and
anodize it pink. Me wants to have a
kandy-braclet kompartment and a
stash for flyerz.

oldskool,

I don't think the chrome would be
"painted" on , instead, the actual
aluminum would be polished with a
buffer to get a shiny look.
So you wouldn't have to worry about it
coming off =). As for the anodizing,
I'm not sure how strong that coating
would be.

I wonder if anyone would want to buy my original case if I got a alu one? I could sell it on ebay! I've also got a really early 303 carry case which is black with silver writing (as opposed to the silver with orange writing) and original manual and chord shift scale, I bet I could get quite a bit for those too!

You have a black case with silver
writing? cool.

When I was buying my 303 , the
seller gave a me a choice of a silver
case or a black one with orange
"roland" letters. So I think there were
like 3 different choices?

I bet you could sell the old plastic
case on ebay probably for like 300
bucks! or until people find out about
the aluminum cases.

About the chord shift scale, I would
be definetly interested in getting it if
you want to sell it.

I still think it's a fucking rip, but if you have the money, go for it! I dunno, maybe if I feel stupid one day I'll order a silver / chrome one, but I really want the original print on it.

Get this...at my school, the rooms numbers are labled according to floor and building (ex: H-310, my Physics class is Herzeberg building, floor three, room 10).

The cafeteria is in Stewart Hall, floor 1, room 1. Guess what that's labeled as?

SH-101 baby!!!!!!!

The blue one is the one i'd go for. Very sexy=o) $423 is a bit steep, but it is expensive as hell to make these, so it's all good. I'll definatly buy one when i can. This guy has the right idea.
