Original Message 1/3 16-Nov-00 @ 11:51 AM - Nova inputs
Does anybody know what kind of jack:s novas inputs are?
Manual says that jacks are 1/4 inch jacks but there is no mention are
they mono or stereo jacks?
I assumed that inputs are stereo jacks because inputs were meant to process external audio signals (I dont wanna use mono inputs) which was the reason why I bought Nova instead of Supernova.
When I connect a stereo cable from sblive to Nova:s input, the result is that signal comes through Nova in every part and even when main volume is turned off! Sound of input is VERY distorted and bizzare.
Even my inputs are broken or Novas inputs are balanced TRS mono jacks (which is not mentioned anywhere!). Does anybody know?

through Nova even the main volume is turned off and sound was very
distorted. I tryed sencitivity switches also. Changing switches influenced
to volume of the signal but it did not get it away completely and if I
turned the main volume the signal coming thouhg the Nova was amlified.
Then I suspect that maby Sblive was causing the broblem (maby some
ground broblems) so I take Nova out my configuration and connect
it to sony:s cd player. (from left channel to Nova:s input through mono
plug) . Result was still the same.
So, I believe inputs are really broken. I have 2 days warrantyy left so I
send it to be checked. Hope I get it back soon.
I have a Korg:s electribe-r and there is 2 inputs which are stereo so
I assumed that Nova:s inputs are stereo also. I do not wanna use
2 inputs for prosessing stereo signals because then I have only
4 parts for writing music. I was ready to sacrifice one part for getting
my system run without need for mixer.
Well, maby this is good reason to by Korg:s electribe sampler to get
2 more inputs. It seemed to be fun toy to play with.
