When i change a program number, say for Part 2 of a custom made performance and try and save the performance, it doesn't save the program change even though i've selected YES for "Update Programs"???

The Nova should save the program change even if you choose "No" for "Update programs".
Does it save no change at all or does it save an incorrect program number ?
In the second case there may be a midi routing problem. If your sequencers midi through is active during saving, the Performance number of the RAM slot where you want to save the performance to can be routed to one of the parts and overwrite the program number you have chosen there.

Hey Phill, what about a FAQ about the midi problems ??????

The power on settings including the performance and program can be saved if you press "write" when you are in the global menue.

When u turn the machine on it goes to the 7th ravers perf. because you might have been in the global menu and pressed the write button, this saves all the machine settings aswell as saving the bootup sound. to change it to turn on with the sound or performance u want. find the program u want it to turn on with and then goto the global menu and press the write button (be careful tho) there should be no danger in doing this unless u changed other things in the global menu. now it should turn on with the patch u want.
