Hi Nova lovers!

Just wanted to share this with you guys..
A while ago i had a major water leekage at my place. The sad thing was that my recording gear was very, very close to the leeking/spraying waterconnection. And so was my beloved Nova.. Believe me, all was sprayed with loads of water! (as was my other gear, like my
Behringer MX2642A etc.)
You can probably imagine how i felt when i came home after this happened, when you take into account that i only got my Nova for about 2 weeks...

Here comes the good bit:
After a lot of cleaning and drying I managed to get away with it without any FUCKED UP GEAR!
As for the NOVA, it is in perfect shape again, and i love it more and more.

Thought it was a good story, which probably shows that the NOVA is TOP QUALITY. Not only in sound, but also in industrial design!

Anyone with a nice similar experience with an old analogue synth? ;-)

gr.
R-Vee

This guy at my local music shop keeps
buyign up old gear like 909s, 101s, 303s
and fixing them up and selling them for
a mint.

He claims the best thing to do is just
take them all apart, bath them in
rubbing alchohol and water and let them
dry out.

Apparently, most electronics will
survive a good washing, as long as the
are OFF and preferably not even plugged
in... so I've been told. I don't wanna
find out.

LOL! Same thing happened to my Korg EA-1 about a month ago! Some clumsy girl spilled a brew on it... it was a little sticky but it still works.

most circuit boards go through some kind of industrial washing machine at the factory anyway, contact with water doesn't cause problems as long as the board's thoroughly dried after (hairdryer works but takes forever)
