I was thinking about the 303 the
other day and realized something.
Now I'm not sure if this is true,
perhaps someone in the electronics
field knows for sure.

When I got my 303, it supposedly
was sitting unused for a long while in
a closet or something, eventually
after I obtained it, my resonance pot
started to go scratchy in one spot. I
took it apart and cleaned the pot
eventually and it sounds good now.

Perhaps the 303 was sitting in that
closet all those years with the
resonance pot in that same position
as where the pot was "scratchy"!

So , my idea was, when not using the
303 (even over night) "Park" all the
pots in the "0" position, all the way to
the left.

This might seem overkill, but that
resonace pot especially is pretty
much extinct to get as a part.

We all like our 303's here, I want
mine to sound good for as long as I
can. What do you guys think about
this.

i think pots get scratchy due to dust/smoke/etc. (i.e really fine grit) falling between the moving and the stationary parts -- a can of compressed air would probably help too...
