I'm wondering , does anybody know how the CLK IN on the 101 works, can you get it sincronised to midi?

???

not midi, but if you have an old dr55 you can link/sync them together. this skt only takes a pulse in from your old fashioned cv type synths.

It so happens I just purchased a SH-101 and am wondering if I could sync it directly to my TB-303,which is synced to the rest of my stuff via a Philip Rees sync24-MIDI.

thanks,
-M-

If you plug something in to the clock in jack, that takes over the built-in sequencer and arpeggiator. So you could pull a rim-shot or something out of a drum machine and get that to sync up. The LFO is still controlled by the rate slider, though. You can play it from a sequencer with a midi-CV converter using the CV and Gate in jacks. You can do all kinds of tricky stuff if you get it modded up with something like the NovaMod, but I think those guys have stopped doing it for now.

One possible solution...

This is how I do it.

I use an MC202 which is synced up to MIDI (you can use an Phillip Rees box for this or use something like an old MSQ700 sequencer to convert MIDI to sync 24).

On one channel of the MC202 I have a single note looped endlessly at the desired gate resolution.

Connect the Gate out of the MC202 channel to the Clock In on the SH101.

Works every time !
