After having searched in vain for a reasonably priced Waldorf Microvave 1 and finding only a limited Edition green one at Touched by Sound for a little to much i decided i would instead like an Oberheim.
Matrix 6R's seem to be reasonably priced at the moment so i decide to ask for any advise on what i should be asking the seller.
Os version etc.
Are they still reliable?
Costs of repair.
Known problems.
Bizarre Sysex implimentation rendering my attempts to control it with a Control freak doomed to failure.
Flimsy membrane buttons.
Ease of repair or replacement of same,retrofit momentary action switch?
Guitar input???

Ison I haven't a clue. But I suggest you post something in the Music and Tech forum. For example: Could anyone familiar with the OB Matrix 6R check my thread in the Oberheim Forum?, or something like that. This forum doesn't seem to be visited much right now.

matrix 6r sounds really nice. thick and full of analog

but theyre not really supported anymore..

how much were you gettin quoted for Uwaves? Ive seen em here for $500 or so...

need help? $300-$350 here

I dont know anything else about all the midi and all that crap..sorry

I remember seeing at least one MW1 for 400 pounds or about 600 dollars
TBS in Germany have the green one as the equivalent of 490 pounds or 735 dollars.
I plan to phone around tomorrow to finalise a Matrix 6r purchase.
They seem to hovering about the 350 pound mark (525 Dollars).
Maybe they are costing more around here because people are greedier?

I don't really know about going rates in the UK, but I got my Matrix 6R is the States for $325. Great pads. A bit of work to program, but it does sound great. I've yet to really get into the mod matrix, but it does offer a ton of possibilities as far as routing of things go.

Well maybe when i actually get a response from the vendors i contacted i will be able to hear for myself.
Sales departments that feel they dont need to reply to potential customers E-mail's,that really sucks.

I paid 400 notes for my uwave1 v2. The bastards wanted 600 to start with so I had to wait till the price came down. It was pretty much the only one I`d seen up for sale, so I jumped on it.
