Hi people... how can I change IRQs?

When I try it says: This resource setting cannot be modified.

Well then you can't..atleast in windooze. You might be able to in bios, so fool around there. What excactly's the boggle?

Well... I would like to put own IRQ to my soundcard because there are some problems... now it is sharing the IRQ but Device Manager does not report any conflickts...

just thought to try.

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

If the soundcard shares irq with the graphicscard, you should just try the soundcard in a different pci slot, as some irq are pre engaged. This should boost stability and performance of playback greatly. Atleast it did for me!

Echo Mia soundcard has IRQ 12 and
VIA Tech 3038 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller has the same IRQ and it is two times in there...

or if I change Mia to another PCI slot it takes IRQ 10 and there is also ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering.

IRQ 5 is free... I changed PCI slot number 2 BIOS setting from AUTO to IRQ 5 and put Mia in slot 2 but it didn't take IRQ 5.

Usually you can set the bios to not assign an irq to usb..

Hi... I don't have problems anymore with my soundcard... not sure what I did but now it works.
