shhh. i've got a hangover.

why don't you go to the hardware sites and find out if they've got xp drivers? i think it might also depend on your mobo/bios. i wouldn't jump into it, i did and now i'm back on win98se for music only. xp for everything else. i'f it's working why fix it?

btw what's this go to do with logic 5 shiping?

well, i am waiting for logic 5, cause logic 4.8.1 won�t work with win 2000, so i suppose it won�t work under xp. or does it?
i am running reaktor under xp right now, and the stability and performance have improved after switching from 98se to xp.

i tried using 4.81 under xp, it runs alright, but i got too many snaps, crackles and pops. i think it's to do with the fact that my darla 16bit isn't supported under xp. i used the darla 20 drivers, it worked but couldn't handle more than a couple of tracks.

when 5 comes out i'll try it under xp, but i think i might have to get a new soundcard.

ps when i installed xp it didn't report logic as a program that wouldn't work under xp. (unlike some others)

I have Logic running on Windows 2000 SP2, but I don't use it much, because it performs much better on 98SE. On 2000 I have experienced a number of crashes, on 98SE it never crashes. Also it uses more processing power, so one track that just mixes on 98SE won't play on 2000.

I doubt that 5 will be much better, there simply aren't enough people using 2000/XP for the software to be tweaked in the way it obviously has been for 98SE.

Anyway, as it works on 98SE so well why update the OS? Dual booting makes much more sense, 98SE for music, 2000 or XP for everything else.
