I guess I'm just a moron but I cannot figure out how the heck to get grid lines in the piano roll view for anything other than the default 1/4 notes.

I'm able to set the snap to to 16th notes but I also want the visual grid to show 16th notes.

Can anybody help me out! Thanks

Click one of the magnifying glasses.

Or do you want more vertical lines ? I don't think that's possible.

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

I have an idea...

Change the time signature or meter/key or whatever it is called from 4/4 to 16/16.

I'm certain that'll do the trick. Cakewalk makes the vertical lines at every beat, and in 4/4 you have four beats in each measure. 16/16 is going to take the same amount of time for each measure, but you'll have 16 beats and thus 16 vertical lines.

yeah, i'm asking about sonar (sorry for not being more specific).

it's crazy that it can't do that - i'm trying to get vertical lines - like in logic or something where i can visual see each 16th note, etc.

for such a simple feature it seems really bad that they don't have that in there. oh well, i guess i can delete the sonar demo and go back to logic

thanks all!

That's a clever idea gb. I never look at the time signature anyway. Thing is, it's nice to see the lines but it's annoying too when there are so many. I guess I've gotten used to setting the grid to snap where I want and being able to gauge the distance. But yea, they should put it in as an option to turn on when you want them.

Well, I never felt like I needed more than four lines to a measure either. Just trying to figure out whether it's possible or not. And it seems to be...
