Hi!
Since being introduced to VST instruments and Cubase a short (very short) time ago, I've been trying to find out something - Whether the VSTi property changes can be automated. I want to be able to get Cubase or some other program to allow me to alter properties on the VSTi panel (e.g. changing resonance on a VSTi synth) as the audio plays, and record those changes then reproduce them automatically the next time I play the song. Perhaps this is really obvious or it aint possible at all, whichever way I'd like to know! Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance!

activate the 'write' button on the top-left of the mixer panel or the individual tracks eq/fx panels.

to hear the changes activate 'read'.

no thats for the mixer....

you need to open options midi, and set the sysex thru & record both to UN-ticked - then create/select a midi track on the same channel as the vsti, then hit record and fiddle with controls... you can see the recorded sysex in edit/list edit

That's a plugin effect, Jasper. They're talking about instruments. Like a GakStoar, a Roagine, a DX10, a RMF, that sorta shit.

ah, (mentle note to self - don't follow kilos advice about dancetech being best viewed with mar-e-ju-wa-na) - got it now.

some instruments don't respond to midi, so I just use a plugin fx and use that.

Erm, sorry, meant like Logic.

Because I haven't got a controler at the moment, and I think VSampler receives on midi but doesn't send. Well I couldn't get your method to work with it anyway.
