Apologies if any asked this previously but I am wondering if anyone knows of a Sound Card that allows one to route different soundfonts to different outputs, or is this not possible.

The reason I ask is that I've had my SB Live Platinum for about a year know and am getting quite annoyed by its limitations (high latency, noisey outputs etc). I find the SoundFonts very usefull though but always find they need a little FX/EQ before they are useable, hence the need to want to seperate my SoundFont tracks onto seperate channels on my desk.

hmmm that's a tuff one... i dont think many users round here use soundfonts... there is s/w soundfont players available that plug into VST or Logic etc tracks as a plugin synth tho... (well there is one for cakewalk SONAR so i assume there is available a standalone for the others... mebbe not, i haven't really checked the whole thing out...

So you are mixing the soundcard/soundfont outputs on a hardware mixer then ??

http://www.soundfont.com/products/sfplayer.asp

creative/emu do this player, but read the manual to see if it integrates into s/w workstations like VST & Logic etc

ahah... there's one - Bismark vsti soundfont2 player/synth:

of course, Logic's EXS24 sampler loads SF2 files!

Also, checkout the KX project on this page:

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!
