Hello all,

Here is the setup. 900Mhz Athlon PC, running LA4 with loads of S/W synths. I have finally had enough of latency probs with my 5.1 Platinum and I know that I need to buy a (low end Budget) professional card replacement. However, cash is tight and I wondered what might be my best option here. What are the pitfalls of S/H Sound cards and what are the best budget sound cards which would get me out of the 'home' soundcard arena?

midiman audiophile, hoontech dsp24/96 (various models), some people say the terratec ewx is quite good but never tried it meself, sek'd/marian do a few budget cards too - check that a midi i/o is provided with budget cards, cos if NOt you'll have to also invest in a decent midi i/o port device which is why I like the midiman & hoontech

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!
