i'm running vst 5.1 (pc) and cant afford to buy wave lab or any other editor so are there any usable freeware editors out there, doesnt matter how simple as i havent used an editor before

audacity - might have to search for it as a .org or .net - free editor project. nice except last i saw there was no horizontal median line  

cooledit is probably available as a demo. ce demo allows you to select two 'functions' each use, a function might be.. filtering, amp effects, whatever, plus 'save file' is an option.. so just select 'save file' and whatever you want to do and open ce multiple times.. works.. good orientation it is.

you could score wavelab 3 for $100 or so. Cant afford that?

A mate of mine is sorting me out with wavelab 1.something so i'll play with that and then i'll get wavelab 3 or 4 if i can find one for £100 odd.
