I recently got the Tascam US-428 DAW and i'm having some trouble. please give me a break as i'm kind of a beginner when it comes to all of this. i installed the drivers and got everything set up, i set up cubase so it recognizes everything. So everything seems to be going ok. So i go to record something, and there's no sound. i opened the main channel mixer in Cubase and the channel i was on showed that it was recieving sound(i.e. the bar was going up and down), but i still couldnt hear anything. it even recorded and the file was there in front of my face! but i couldnt hear anything! what happened?
Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Steve

Did you make sure your monitor mix was set up so that your sound card is routing your recorded mix out to your speakers?
I don't have Cubase yet but I read a lot of recording mags and this seemed like an easily overlooked problem.
Let us know how you get on.
