you cant turn down the line level when recording in to the sw1000xg,this is a major pain in the arse.I record into the anologue inputs through a focusrite penta channel .but the signal is nearly always to hot and it clips in the vst monitor channels.yamaha's answer is to record useing wave record 2 to control input level but at its lowest setting still doesnt solve the problem. the only way for me to record stuff is to send it through my hardware desk and adjust the gain from there, but to get good noise ratio you should be turning level of recorder input down, not the output of the source which you want to record(everyone knows that).also, I bought the focusrite as a recording channel so I wouldnt have to go through the mixing in the first place.
I would appreciate ideas or solutions on this one

You can d/l a utility that resets the line inputs from Mic to Line and sets the volume correctly. Maybe that will do the trick?
It's available from www.xgfactory.com
Cheers

And I already have the mic/line tool which I use every time I record.
