Just seen an advert in the paper for a 3GHz P4! WTF! Thats got to be mental...

I'm sitting in fron of my music Pc a 1.33GHz Atlhon Thunderbird thinking how fast it is!

How many platinum verbs is that gonna do..Crazy

Don't be too suprised if it doesn't do *that* many more...

I've not noticed any HUGE differences between my old TBird 1.4 and my new XP2100+ *yet*... except for rending mixdowns on Cubase, which does admittedly seem to fly on the XP..

Yep, remember that clock cycles do not directly relate to the speed and amount of FPU pipelines, which are THE heart of Audio and Effects processing in your CPU.

AMD are still kicking ass there!

A 3 ghz P-4 is probably going to be reoughly equaly to 2200-2400mhz of AMD, so really it's not that much faster than what's currently available.

I just got a p4 2.4 ... PHAW!

Quite literaly, my Athlon 950 runs faster for audio apps... with a slower hdd.

So, be excited if you want... I'm gonna just watch AMD for now
