I'm looking to get a new *decent* sound card for my trance studio. Some of the features I'm after are:
- 5.1 channel output (not essential but preferred - 2 stereo outputs would be adequate)
- Digital outs
- ASIO drivers
- 24bit Digital+analogue inputs
- Full duplex

just out of curiosity, are you looking for surround for your music or for DVD? youŽd probably have to get an 8-out soundcard... and do you need multiple digital outs (i.e. adat optical) or just an spdif i/o?

Actually I want surround for DVD as well as the music. I'm quite willing to get 2 sound cards, one for surround playback and one for *high* quality recording/playback. I guess for this I would then only need 1 stereo in, 1 stereo out, 1 optical in, ASIO, full duplex... any suggestions????
Just wondering - are there cards to handle just inputs (i.e. Lots of inputs that i can run through VST if I wanted to expand my systems input capacity?)

korg oasys. all the synths,fx and sounds you need for trance or any electronic music, and adat and spidif out. ASIO is fast as well. Right now under $500 at guitar center until they are gone. They stopped production.
