i'm wondering whether a sony vaio is a good choice for making music?i want to run cubase vst,acid,f loops & soundforge & a couple of plug ins.
i'd like to record guitar onto the hd. what would be the best s/card choice for this kinda laptop.
i've haeard the dell insporon is highly rated by some of u cats on dancetech!

don't get a vaio...all my collegues have em..they're tiny ans sexy but are fucking hard to use with extra hardware and at least 3 them suffer from *frequent* hard disk troubles (crashes, bad sectors)..get something more rugged.

thing is i've already got a home built pc-p2 400mhz w/midiman audiophile & the above software. it runs like a dream 'cos i did ltsa research b4 i built it.
so i wanna go laptop for holidays, train etc.

what is a solid lappy to go with then Bastiaan?

Dell laptops are rock solid, though I have not done any music work with them. I think Influx runs one.

I dont use mine for music but I have had ZERO problems with it otherwise

seriously, do a search. The reason mick seems bitchy is because we JUST DID THIS and he (and others) went very in-depth about it...

there is a search function up there, to the left...use it and youll find plenty of info
