So... Did anyone hear about the new sb-audigy card? Followup to the sb-live.
I was searching a bit, and seems to be that it is just about anything anyone could want from a card: Asio-drivers (2ms latency), 24bit 96khz recording...
Only bad thing I can think about is that this probably means that the promised asio drivers for my sb-live will probably never come out...

The Audigy hasn't 96Khz 24 bit recordning, it only has 96Khz 24 bit playback. And the fx are still as unflexible as with the Live!

SB cards really aren't intended for our use.. You're so much better with a Midiman Audiophile or Echo Mia..

never understood this. The SB stuff is clearly more for games, etc. I mean fuck...1/8" mini jack for RECORDING? Don think so

someone bought my cousin one for Xmas once, and he was talking about all the recording he was going to do. I said "you coulda spent $100 more and got a delta44 or even less and got an audiophile or something"

"nah...this is really all you need to do great recordings!"

WHY? BECAUSE IT SAYS SO ON THE BOX?

ok

supposedly its got a fixed 48khz thing on all asio recordings too.

'if it aint broke, dont fix it' comes to mind ......come to think of it, 'if it is broke but people still buy it, then don`t fix it' would be more suitable.

got to own up to having one. i use it for the spdif (from my synth) the optical (for minidisc), midi in/out, and (ouch) as a mic preamp, which it really sucks at, so fkn noisy. every recording i make with it has to go through cool edit noise reduction, very tedious. my second hand darla's lurvly for low latency vsti. proper mic pre is next on the list but i still might hang onto the live for the digital input though. dunno about 48khz, i just record into wavelab and import into logic, which is quite tedious as well.

there's got to be a better way.

coz the asio in logic is used by my darla, i guess i should set one of the other types of driver for the live. hmm. now there's a thought. could be this afternoons little project while i watch scotland beat the all blacks. thnx milan

tell the truth i'm just pissed off that i bought the sb, i only used the fkr grudginly ;)
