Started on a soundscape'ish thing but soon could not resist to add a few drums here an there... So much for trying ;). Anyway, track is called Save The World part1&2. You see, I named it thinking it would be an ambient piece, heh.

Thread title sounds the opening of a viagra ad.

I would have personally kept this one ambient, just because your sounds are so deep they stand on their own. Perhaps something a bit "zone"ier with the drums. They're just too standard for my tastes. Well, as I listen they're growing on me, but that pussy-ass electro snare sound never sounds right.

Nice incoherent rambling samples. I like that. Nice structure overall, didn't seem to get boring. I think by the breakbeat end, it kinda forgets its beginning though. Loses the spacieness, ya know? It comes back nicely at the end though.

I'm just diggin here... really a very nice track me mon.

yeah man, nice one. love the cinematic feeling of the track, just like telling a good story.

I like it. Nice texture sounds. Mild and rough blended together well. But I agree with psy on the drums. Too upfront and disturbing.

Thanks all, think I'll try to soak those drums into a bucket of effects tonight.

Nice stuff Maarten, with or without the beats. =) Has a kind of Fripp quality to it.

Reminds me bit of Astral Asiaor zen Paradox, too. Tasty ride....

you mean you were going to write a song without drums!??!?! i'm feeling faint...

aneewayyyyy

that low bass boingky thing at the start totally reminds me of some fsol... not sure which one tho...

hey that' wicked... those hi clicky-jingle drms around 2:30 that come in! and the start of the second part is really good too. the only thing i wish for was a lead... but your stuff doesn't normally feature a lead per se anyway.. so i dunno hheheh

it's cool.. i don't think i've ever heard anything not soo non distorted (relatively speaking anyway) from you.. yet it still retains a maarten feel (which is good).

Hey,

Cool beginging, but I really can't stand that lfo-ed weird zappy effect!!!

IMO the drums sound great- yes, yes, yes love the 808ish sounds!

Now where are those vocals from??! Sound strangly familiar..

Cool fill with the rims etc (in the break)- use that more!

Is that the TB at 5:15ish?

I can't really see this track without drums...if you're gonna take em out, at least have 2 mixes!

This style of music is so foreign to me, but I really think you did a nice job. There are some excellent soundscapish type sounds in there- hats off to you.

Andrew

That's the EA-1 at 5:51ish. Vocals are from Hurly Burly (Sean Penn) in a cokey discussion with mr. Spacey. heh.. I review my music over headphones at work and my colleague screamed "wtf are those irritating noises coming out of you phones?" Those were the lfo'ed fx thingy's, so you're not alone.

this almost-ambient track didn't quite sit with me but this new track!!!...never look back> seems to have all it's ingredients in place...develops smoothly and stays steady in it's purpose. i never detected any missing elements and i just thought it quite the exhilirating little ride~
very enjoyable!!!! another one for the permamnent stable. good work.

The drums seem a little incongruent as they are but if you really went nuts with something minimilist and disjointed or crazy polyrhythmic and highly processed...

Ignoring your stated intent, however, it works as it is. Five thumbs and an antenna up, Joe Bob says, "Check it out."
