i like the way they mix that irish wardance music with the japanese 2-step.

you seen the old classic Jojimbo (Yoyimbo) ? - they based 'A Fistful of Dollars' on it, and also that bruce willis film 'Last man standing' was based on it pretty much - The Jojimbo arrives in a village and plays off two rival gangs against each other, each wants him to join their gang due to his skill/deadliness. If you've seen 'A Fistful', then you know the story cos it's an exact copy.

superb flim man.

another great film is Onibaba if you're into cool films - one of the darkest films i know.

if i live long enough....i'll have checked out all these films one day.
i always appreciate the worthy recommendation.

this year i finally saw braveheart and gladiator......one of the residual effects of having a dvd-player/recorder for your computer data storage.

that's saying something for a film when you can become gripped just by reading it's reviews.

but a small correction might be in order.....
baba is not derogatory for grandmother.... just more casual.
the way dad or pop is to father.

guns just don't have the same psychological effect as a whirling arc of death, especially if it's got a nice bright hamon (that wiggly line on the blade)

it's still a toss-up which is scarier, though....a guy with a good sword

BERLIN - A German man has gone on trial accused of decapitating his mother with a Samurai sword.

Prosecutors say the 22-year-old, identified only as Axel T., beheaded his mother last June after his parents wanted to move him out of the family home in Munich, a court spokesman said on Tuesday.

The man, who has a history of drug problems, ran into the kitchen where his mother was reading a newspaper and cut off her head with the 45-centimeter blade, the spokesman said.

"Then he wanted to kill his father who was in another room."

But the son called the police instead and blamed his father for the crime.

The trial started on Monday.
