I have the SCP55 installed and is works fine. It sounds
like a Sound Canvas and is easy to install.... but
its no low-cost card :-( Here in Germany you have to
pay about DM 550 (~190 UK pound).
If you donŽt really need a PCMCIA soundcard youŽll better
buy an external device (MU80, Sound Canvas, X5/DR, etc.).
Ciao

Don't know of (although still wishing for) a PCMCIA w/ Digital I/O capability. I have been using the Roland SCP-55 PCMCIA card since it's introduction with GREAT results. The funn begins when your sittin in your car with the laptop SCP-55 plugged into the cassette adapter. (Even better if you have direct audio in capability in your vehicle). Its really cool to show real-time automated mixes to friends and business associates. This demo will unleash audio capabilities unexpected from your car audio setup.. Especially when you hit the space bar, instantly stopping playback, and notice the "natural" decay of your tracks.
Added bonus; All of my songs are Quicktime 3.0 compatible, as Apple chose the Sound Canvas sound set as the baseline for developing their soft-engine.
