What is the best 8MB bank for teh AWE? I put together a decent one using the 8MBGMGS.SF2 and repacing the Overdriven and Distortion guitars with the reverbed Karmac guitars.

Anyone have a favorite that they want to share? I can send you my SF2 in trade.

I've tried couple of them and I can definitely recommend the Chaos 8MB GM soundfont. It has the best sounding instruments.

well folks , when new dancetech arrives, you can all upload you awe soundfonts into a readers library.... and swap exchange... nice huh>??

Sounds GREAT! I have modified the chaos8MB to include better guitars (Karmac), a better sttel guitar, better church organ and sax. It's about 8.5MB and sounds GREAT! When the new board starts let me know and I'll u/l it.

I agree with most of you. The Chaos Bank is a superior GS soundset. What I can't believe is that the Koreans who built it have also made a 12 MB Chaos Bank. Anyone know how that one sounds? I suppose the new SB Live will be able to use that one. If you're into techno/dance, there's an 8mb bank called the ultra GM+ with awesome user patches of techno hits bass thumps & house organs & synths. It used to be on the Rez Rocket ftp, but it disappeared several months ago.
