Check out the PULSAR from Creamware. The new platform for doing music with a pc/mac.
It features a brutal card with a lot of horsepower that can emulate this:
sampler, softsynths (a minimoog for instance!), 32 ch mixer and effects!!!!!!!!
About 1000 dollars (if I'm not remembering wrong).
