uhm, i was wondering ;
i never realy used midi in to my computer (more the other way round), but my experience with it is that there is a delay before the sound is triggered in f.eks. programs like vaz and other softsynth's.
so if i wanted to use gigasampler as a a samplerunit like i would with a hardware sampler, with an hardware sequencer, wouldn't i experience a small delay from gigasampler ?
or is this lag just all because my soundcard sux, and do i need a paralelport midiinterface to solve it (i use AWE64)?

The lag time with gigasampler is supposed to be very low. Your polyphony will be limited to how fast your computer is. Gigasamper really needs a very fast computer to get most out of it though. Reality works pretty well and can hold up to a gig of samples in ram. Reality would work with a montego sound card or others that support direct sound.
