Subject: VST Crashing - followed by no midi input

got another call today.... and this is the second time I've encountered this problem with different VST versions.....
system crashes all the time, then refuses to see any midi input.... well, the fix is:
go to the MODULES dir, and remove the EFFECT.DLL.....plca eit in a new dir for safekeeping..... this has been observed with Gina card, and AWE-64......
dunno what the EFFECT.DLL is for, cos the proggie runs fine without it....
