I just bought Cubase VST for the PC. I installed it and the install went well...or so I thought. Now when I start the program I get a message window that pops up and says "The Cubase Standard dongle has been found. Please install Cubase standard!"

I didn't BUY CUBASE STANDARD...I bought VST!!

HAs anyone seen this problem before?

probably you got an upgrade.. maybe you need to first install the old pre-vst version.. then over-install vst on top.... maybe.. ?

I had the same problem when I first got my upgrade from Steinberg. You need to get a correct serial number from them. The serial number you have is not for VST but for standard. They put all the different versions on the CD and depending on the serial number is what you get.

You could use the serial number of 070000000 to get it to work (it still needs the dongle though).
