I'm interested if anybody has had problems with normal stereo soundcards? Has there been problems only with multichannel cards?
So far my VST has been working well without crackling or any other problems under win 98 but I installed it on top of the win 95. Does it really matter if you do a clean install? There are other reasons not related to VST why I would like to do a clean install for my whole system. Does this mean I have to take a risk with VST too?

I can get 32 tracks of playback (no FX) with no problems and can get 16 tracks with svereal effects going.
98 is much more stable in my opinion. The drivers for 98 are supossedly model after NT drivers...and I 've heard rumors that eventually...maybe in the next version...MS will simply merge the 2 platforms into one.
Good luck

If I convert my 6.4gb drive to fat32 should I still divide it for two virtual drives... one for music and one for rest of the stuff. I don't have money to buy a dedicated harddisk for music at the moment.
I mean if there's a virus in my system harddisk (c , is it safer for the recordings to be somewhere else (like d ? And what about fragmentation..?

Defraggging works the same as it would with 2 physical drives

fat 32 file system will not be fully taken advantage of if you only use the upgrade...
