WE ARE A COUPLE OF MUSICIANS ABOUT TO PURCHASE RECORDING EQUIPMENT AND HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT OTHER'S EXPERIENCES AND GETTING MORE AND MORE CONFUSED. FIRST OF ALL, WE'VE HEARD ABOUT CUBASE 4.0 (FROM GUITAR CENTER, PROBABLY NOT THE MOST PROFESSIONAL SOURCE FOR THESE THINGS) AND HAVEN'T SEEN ANY DISCUSSIONS ABOUT IT. IS ANYONE USING IT, AND IF SO, DO YOU LIKE IT...FIND IT TO HAVE SOLVED ANY PREVIOUS PROBLEMS...KNOW OF ANY BETTER SOFTWARE, AND WHY. ALSO, ANY SUGGESTIONS ABOUT MIDI INTERFACES? OUR BUDGET IS AROUND $1200 AND WE HAVE A MAC G3 300. WE COULD ALSO USE ANY INFO ANYONE HAS ABOUT RECORDING MICS. $500 RANGE. THANKS.

the silence which has greeted your request may be due to the PC-centric nature of this site, which is otherwise excellent...Cubase is great, with a G3 it does everything you could want--get loops off the net, yer in bizness...ya don't really need the 24 bit deal, though, I've got it and don't use it cuz it uses more memory. The program is dope, though. I have a CAD 100 mike it's about two hundred and it sounds great
