Subject: DS2416 with VST 3.6

Anyone in the PC world using the Yamaha DS2416 soundcard with Cubase VST 3.6 and have got it working porperly? I'm aware that VST/24 is required to fully support this card, however, in my setup at home, I cannot get my soundcard to record AT ALL. It will play back OK. Anyone suggest any system settings that they know to work? Steinberg tech support in the UK have not come back to me in any shape or for even though I sent screen captures of all the settings in my Audio system and ASIO dialogue boxes. Can anyone help???

What soundcard were you using prior to the Yamaha? (Did it record OK?)
Have you activated the inputs of the sound card in Cubase (Audio / System / ASIO) ?
Have you then enabled the inputs you want to use ? (Audio / Inputs -> green button)
Have you enabled the recording option of the soundcard (WIN95/98 Control panel / MultiMedia / Audio)
Is your input volume control up far enough ?
Have you activated the inputs of the sound card in Cubase (Audio / System / ASIO) ?
Have you then enabled the inputs you want to use ? (Audio / Inputs -> green button)
Have you enabled the recording option of the soundcard (WIN95/98 Control panel / MultiMedia / Audio)
Is your input volume control up far enough ?

well, IŽve tested it. I had a DS2416 for some days.
it works fine, but..... to control the DS youŽll need
VST/24, version 3.6 !
with the "normal" VST 3.6 it works like a MME-soundcard.
if you want to use the full range of this card, you can
combine VST 3.6 with C-MEXX. C-MEXX is a control-mixer
for DS, supporting nearly all features of DS.
I recommend you to wait, well.... some month (March.... April) cos I found out that the DS card layout is some pilot-series!! some capacitor and some SMD resistors are put on manually on the board (soldered with two leads !!).
