y'know, you can create some wild kicks with a gate, using a trigger from the kik drum or sample to also gate open some other sound in sync - gate-time-sync... that can be any sound source if you want to get real crazy, or industrial/ tech/experimental tip - gates also do some wicked ar's on sound pads or sources these can be triggered by say the hat pattern,,, you can also have the kik-drum open up a bass-loop or whatever so the opening of the two is syncronised perfectly or by using the gates attck control you can do fade-up's etc.... VERY useful tool the gate with triggers, i'd put it down ranking as high as an arpegiator as an armoury-item for creating patterns

is there any way to do this in software? I mean- theoretically you could have a plug in sync a gate on 1 wav from the gate on another... no?

only if the s/w gate allows you to assign a trigger input from another track source
