Hi !!
I am a songwriter looking for some modern R&B drum beats .My equipment is on the old side TR707, Roland
D 20 keyboard . My partner also downloaded the full
version of Tuareg.Any help would be great.

THe only sequencer we have is built into the Roland D 20. I hate to say it but technology has passed us by ,except a Roland VS1680 which is a 16 track digital recorder

hey man
here is the beat from qtips breathe + stop
it is typical timbaland juddery shit so make sure the bassline follows the kik + snare well, otherwise the pattern will be fucked.

well, unless you want to get into somplexed stuff, try an akai MPC sequencer/sampler - very good as a centerpiece for getting drums & grooves down.. then bolt-on your other synths and mix !

may i suggest an mpc for the drums, an s950 for percussion and bass samples and a crusty old cheetah sampler for special effects and vinyl noise to add to the grit.
