Does anyone know of a way to share a scsi hdd and cdrw which are connected to my scsi card in my pc with the s5000....without conflicts>?
I do have a spare internal scsi hdd which i think i'll connect up independently... it's just the cdrw - will i have to buy a new cd-rom?
Thanks...snipes

As long as all devices on the SCSI chain
have different ID's you should be able
to do this. Remember that the PC and
Sampler also have SCSI ID's.

Hi Craig, i've just done a test with my set-up - connecting each drive by turn. I think my cdrw is not compatible with the akai (it's a yamaha 8424). I've had a look at the drive list on the akaipro site but it's not very up to date. Can anyone recommend a cd-rom that works well with the s5000?

Well, it simply might not like the fact
that it's a burner. Burners don't get
written to like hard drives, and that
may be confusing it.

Any recommendations on a new cd-rom?

None specifically. I don't use one with
my S2k, and I don't know beans about the
5000 really... Just answering in terms
of general SCSI knowlege.

I've got an Plextor 12/4/32Tsi SCSI internal that works fine with my akai mpc200xl.

I would rather be suspicious of your scsi card i have an adaptec 2910 no probs.

Also what length leads etc have you got?

Cheers
