I knew he was influential but I didn't realise that he pioneered "overdubbing" and "multitracking". So that's why they called his productions a "wall of sound"?!?

well he got charged few hours later, and the bail is set at 1.000.000$, so i wonder what the police thinks

anyway, wasnt he always a bit of a psycho? but still, pretty weird if he killed someone...

Not sure but he has a CV second to none. And he did all of his production work BEFORE he was 30. Hmmm, I'm not really on course! :-)

seems he's a bit of a nutcase though. pointing guns at musicians and stuff. he produced a song that Tina Turner did solo when she was still with Ike. River Deep, Mountain High or something like that. Wish I could find it somewhere. Beautiful job Tina did on that. Spector had his hands in everything which sets off alarms in my head as to how that came to be.

well...just look at the guy...dressed all in red...that crazy hair....stoopid glasses.....genius is genius and so is madness. that weird grin all the time.
as for his wall of sound...overdubbing was already in place but what spector did was to start filling up a sparser rock/pop music with tons of orchestration and background vocals to fill those gaps and put lotsa reverbs on the drums and bass and everything.

yea and I wouldn't call the guy a genius. He just had an in and an idea from someone or maybe himself but he had the foot in. Genius is something else.

true that sitar.....i guess for some their genius is all about getting that foot in that door at that time etc.
and something about ability to choose hats.
