Is the 3000xl a higher end sampler than the 3000 and 3000i?

In 1995-96 AKAI replaced S2800/i - S3000/i and S32000 with the following models: S2000 - S3000XL and S3200XL. So I guess that the S3000XL is a higher end model.
I'm up to buy a 3000XL in the days, fully upgraded and with zip-drive. Hope it's worth it for about $450..
