Was wondering if anyone knew of any Sample CD's or online samplebanks that have excellent drum samples. I'm looking for a breaks sound; particularly a varied amount of ready-made bassdrum sounds. I find the bassdrum is the hardest thing to create and use-I prefer to use finished samples to save time. anyone? thanks.

panama! have you got the grant nelson drums from dt files section? if not, go and get them right now. they are excellent for breaks/step/dnb thinkgs, you wont be dissapointed.

other than that, check Dogs On Acid samples section for Loki Drums, one of those three is a kick pack with over a hundred kicks (possibly much more) which are also very good. theres the link^^^

regards, m.

yo, No. I havent downloaded them samples... I
shall... but I did download them Dogs on Acid
samples. As kilo would say: "superb!" But I
never really got into the overall selection
except the Pentavin pack.

I got some good kicks that pump the mix but I
dont want to overuse them. If I only knew the
tricks in getting that hot, overdriven,
compressed sound for a bassdrum. Any tips?

i cant really know what sound exactly you mean... but i imagine it could be done in any and both ways today... use your imagination i guess   (or post a sample and pull a what-sound-for-trance type thread ;)

If you're still looking for some good samples you can check out http://www.nskit.com. They've got some pretty good samples of a real drummer than can be tweaked and filtered to your liking. It could be a good starting point.

Good luck!

Matthew

I love reverb, Eq, compression, and maybe a touch of distortion and I always get pretty nice kick drums that just slam through
