I know its pobably been covered 100 times but new stuff comes out daily so:

what is the best cheap soundcard capable of 16 band 24bit 44.1khz recording with solid asio drivers for use with cubase Sx? 1 stereo out is enough but more is fine.

No creative cards as i cant handle being locked at 48khz

my fav tip - hoontech dsp24/96 Value which is a bit cheaper than the audiophile.

Agree with the K-meister... DSP24Value is a good buy - you *may* wanna think about the optional bracket though...

Both cards are good options...

I was trying to think of that one. I have no experience with it whatsoever though, so I couldnt offer that suggestion really

i think the terretec, audiophile and hoontech all use the same chips

Well i got the terratec a week ago and its really great! latency down to 1.5ms at 44khz which is great for realtime monitoring with fx, and rock solid with big projects running at 11ms.

i didnt think i needed the front pannel but now thats its there i realize how usefull it is for quick plugging headphones and mics/instruments if you dont have a mixer (mines not been used since), i would definitely recomend the front pannel for small setups or live use.
