up until today wavelab 3.04g recognized my NEC NR-7800A CDRW, and now?

nope. nada

and...seems odd, but in the wavelab system info it only shows as a "CD-ROM Device?" should it show as a CDRW or the like? I never looked at that before.

arrrrrrrrrggggh

well, for future reference, you need the WNASPI32.dll in the WAVELAB folder for CDR to be recognized

got it sorted. copied that file from Nero over to wavelab. back to normal

sure would like to know what the hell happened, tho

and why would I do that? honestly.

If WL3 suits me. does what I need, then why would I give steinberg MORE money..

and for the record, in my search, I found people having the SAME problem with WL4

for future searching reference, I've added the WAVELAB files & tools to the FILES section because steinbergs server is often VERY slow for getting that stuff. All you gotta do is search the FILES section for 'WAVELAB' & you'll find the various ASAPI & other files & compatible CDRW lists etc.

marc:

Charlie Steinberg does not own Steinberg anymore. Pinnacle does.

K:

I used the wavelab CD updater, and the newest patch for 3.0 (3.04g)

did NOTHING. I still have NO idea what happened, but screw it its fixed
