they're the only thigns on there. clean as a fresh pants. ironed ones. can't set the buffers in my ews88 less than 1024 without having horrible crackle. it was never like this before. i formatted the c drive and everything. wtf?
you reckon somethings happened to the card? i'm gonna try changing slots now and see what happens.

as I keep on saying, the music tech biz is a disorganised pile of crap. The GAMES industry got AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) for gaming video performance. Why dont we have AMP (Accelerated Music Port) for semi-pro & pro soundcard use??
I reckon if the music tech industry spent time getting together and lobbying the PC industry rather than fighting each other for dominance, we'd all be better off!
Has anyone heard of any music-tech industry group like that? - can anyone find even a figure for annual turnover of this industry?

Also, had you done any XP tweaks or turned off the fancy shit on your last install ? It can make a difference.

installed the oldest driver i could find for the soundcard and running xp without sp1 and without directx 9. i'll try adding things bit by bit until i know what was doing it.
no cave for me yet. woohoo again.

btw Dingo - mebbe running big mixes at 256 buffers is too much?
I dunno what buffers you're trying, but mebbe up them a bit?
also did you read the faq at staudio.com?
