All the right drivers? The card installed properly? Any other card related applets installed properly? Any XP service packs or hotfixes you had before not been installed now? Can you play *any* audio through the card?

right drivers, only the soundcard and network card in. all mobo drivers straight off disk. vsti and prerecorded audio plays fine, it's only the audio inputs that are buggered at lower latencies. arse.

installed logic on the old puter for now. poo.

what type of network cand?

3com? dlink? realtek?

some nic cards dont like some chipsets apparently when working with a soundcard

also is USB turned off in bios if not used?

anyone ever remember ACORN Operating system?

why the cant XP be like that!?

as I keep on saying, the music tech biz is a disorganised pile of crap. The GAMES industry got AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) for gaming video performance. Why dont we have AMP (Accelerated Music Port) for semi-pro & pro soundcard use??

I reckon if the music tech industry spent time getting together and lobbying the PC industry rather than fighting each other for dominance, we'd all be better off!

Has anyone heard of any music-tech industry group like that? - can anyone find even a figure for annual turnover of this industry?

Might be the graphics card affecting your sound (fucking windows), if yours is NVIDIA you might want to not use the latest drivers as there have been quite a few problems reported and they are the first real DX9 version.

Also, had you done any XP tweaks or turned off the fancy shit on your last install ? It can make a difference.

I dunno what buffers you're trying, but mebbe up them a bit?
