I just heard this for the milllionth time on the radio at the local pool room, and...honest to god, this is the first time I can remember ever noticing the massive compression on the drums in the intro.

am I just deaf...or...what? I mean..I know its a fairly common technique, and might even have been then, but...I was playin my game, heard the beat start and thought "whats this then? listen to that compression! that sounds awesome! holy crap its "Dont Bring Me Down!"

then the breakdown in the middle with that wierd sliding sound...

sample fodder, indeed!

gotta find a high res copy...could probably find the CD somewhere.

you know...there is SO much music that I listen to that Ive NEVER heard sampled in the electronic styles I like...

its like a lot of things in my past...I have ideas...I think "that would be a good idea" and thats as far as it gets. done it ever since I can remember..music...writing...helll Ive even had ideas for drawings and paintings and I dont do them.

I wonder why.

yup there's SO many samples out there in genre's people dont listen to much cos they are onto 'hiphop' or 'dance' and don't walk outside that genre

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

wilburys- orbison, dylan, petty, lynne and i cant remember the other one- pretty good actually...

i actually shamefully like elo (comes from having it rammed down me throat as a kid) and the production is generally very high- stuff like mr blue sky have such a fat sound

I sampled that intro like 7 years ago and made a Jungle track out of it...

I have the hits seperated and the loop someplace... hmmm... might be on an old ZIP disk... ahem... gimme an email address and I'll send 'em to ya...

interested in hearing what I did with it? I think I have the original track somewhere too... might sound dated nowadays... but the drums are so huge, I love it...
