Ok, so this is just some little thing I put together while waiting for a flight, but I have applied three different kind of processing to each version (A, B and C). The question is: which one do you prefer, and why (if any ).

I have my personal preferences, but as the differences are quite subtle, I would not tell them first (I don't want to influence anyone with my opinion).

Thanks to those who take the time to download and evaluate.

cheers,
Rags

Three versions (A,B,C) in a RAR file, 16bit 44 kHz wav

damn, that is subtle!... whats with the distorted alaising sound? it's kinda offputting in that it draws your attention so much it's hard to evaluate any differences between the rest

dunno if it's my imagination, but B seems slightly bigger at the start, the percussive sounds seem slightly lighter in A

??

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

Hey, thanks for checking it! Yeah, you're right, that harsh aliasing sfutt is maybe too experimental for these kind of tests... its some hihat sample being destroyed by this little thing:

http://www.sonalksis.com/index.php?section_id=103

Thing is, version A is multiband compressed, while B is completely dry... also, ver. C has a wierd kind of multiband expansion applied, where everything over the threshold is pushed a bit more up.... sometimes I like the effect, sometimes I don't, because it somewhat overrides the original dynamics...

Also, 10 out of 10 cases I prefer the dry sound over the multiband compressed.
